JzTI specializes in the development of sustainable transportation systems under two main areas of focus: public transit and street design. Each of these practice areas includes a subset of further specialist activities as described below.
Public Transit
Rail Transit including light rail, heavy rail, commuter rail, intercity rail, and streetcars
Bus Transit including conventional buses, circulators, and bus rapid transit (BRT)
Street Design
Traffic Calming for residential neighborhoods and commercial road corridors
Pedestrian Design including network planning, safety evaluation, walking quality assessment, and safe intersection design
Bicycle Planning including network planning, safety evaluation, bicycling quality assessment, bikeshare and bikeway design
Sustainable Road Design focusing on the creation of road networks that are interconnected, balanced, resilient and contextually appropriate
Campus Planning addressing the design of both internal and external streets for a safely shared multifunctional environment
